ISLAMABAD: During a meeting with Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb on Monday, Polish Ambassador Maciej Pisarski reiterated Poland’s strong interest in expanding its footprint in Pakistan’s oil and gas sector, which already holds investments exceeding $100 million.
Ambassador Pisarski stated that Poland intends to reinvest locally generated resources into new exploration projects and is looking to share technical expertise and regulatory support with Pakistan. He noted that bilateral trade has surpassed $1 billion, largely in Pakistan’s favor, and expressed Poland’s desire to broaden cooperation into mining and other resource-rich areas.
Finance Minister Aurangzeb welcomed the commitment, assuring the Polish delegation that Islamabad is open to partnerships that promote knowledge transfer, technology adoption, and sustainable development. He also thanked Poland for its support as Pakistan recovers from recent floods.
The meeting concluded with a mutual pledge to strengthen economic ties, centering future collaboration on energy and resource development.
